The action has its scene laid in the last quarter of the 16th century. The legal dispute over an uncollected debt almost outgrows in a detective plot leaving the spectator in uncertainty which party lies and which party speaks the truth till the end of the story. The parties concerned give different testimonies about the incident and the action spiral draws the spectator into the role of a judge whom the actors turn to. The old – Czech language adds authenticity to the performance. A tension is relieved by situation gags, lightly seasoning thrilling action. It is only the final testimony that brings a little light in the story...
